Kudzu Klinic-Rider Fitness

 Would you love to ride like Steffan Peters?  He is dedicated to working on his rider fitness and core strength which makes him a better rider. Get an overview of specific excercises that will improve your riding ability.  Our first Kudzu Klinic of the year will be hosted by Anna Anton, eventer and sports trainer. Anna Anton is a Strength & Conditioning Trainer working out of Body Pros Physical Therapy Gym in Alpharetta, GA.  In 2009, she received her Sports Performance Coaching certification from the USA Weightlifting Association.  Since that time, she has trained athletes of all ages, designing sport-specific conditioning programs for each individual.  "Whether the interest is in lacrosse, softball, tennis, cross-country, or dressage, strength and fitness training is guaranteed to improve performance."  She currently has several GDCTA members in training.

February 18 & 19, 2012

 

The clinic is open to talented Riders and Young Horses ages 4-6 who a are preparing for USEF Young Horse Competition in 2012. The format is designed to help riders, trainers, owners and breeders assess the  performance potential of young horses and to properly develop young horses with strategies for successful training and competition. Scott will address the quality of gaits and training necessary to make the FEI Young Horse Tests a realistic goal. The clinic will be a clinic format with brief Q&A sessions conducted after each ride / age group. Refreshments and lunch will be provided each day and the Saturday session will include a late afternoon slide show and lecture presented by Scott Hassler.
 
Scott Hassler and Hallye Griffin from the USEF will join riders, owners and sponsors for a dinner discussion on Saturday evening, Feb.18.2012.
 
Next Steps for Riders/Horses:
 
Up to ten horses & riders will be selected covering horse aged 4-6 years of age. All of the horses selected must be in full training and either competing or preparing for FEI Young Horse Dressage competition. Applications will be accepted through Jan.31.2012. Application will be completed by eMail to include full information on both the horse and the rider and a URL to a 3-5 minute video of the horse and rider demonstrating the horse performing age appropriate walk / trot / canter work under saddle. All applications will be submitted to the USEF Young Horse Team for review and selection. The selection of horses & riders will be announced by February.4.2012. Once the riders/horses are selected, online payment of fees must be promptly received to secure the clinic position.
 
Next Steps for Auditors:
 
Space is limited. Applications for audit seats will be accepted until 100 seats are filled. Auditors must pre-register with full payment. We cannot guarantee space day of event for auditors who have not pre-registered. Once confirmed, no refunds can be given. Confirmation will be sent via eMail. Auditor Registration at EventBrite

 2011 Dressage Tests

Here's where you go to find the new tests:

Training - 4th levels, Young Horse, developing Horse, Brentina Cup and Dressage Seat Equitation : USEF. You must login to My USEF account and the link to the tests can be found at the bottom of the page. You do NOT have to be a USEF member to create a USEF account to get to the tests.

FEI tests: FEI website. Does not require a login. These have not changed.

Introductory Level, Freestyle, Quadrille and Pas De Deux tests: USDF. You must login to see the tests and get to that link.
